[ooc: Private thread for Nathan and Fellow; takes place on the day after the welcoming thread.]
Nathan sighed tiredly, rubbing his eyes and face in an attempt to keep himself semi-alert. He wasn't usually this tired, but things weren't usually so stressful around here. The opening day was a bit of a rocky start, as far as some of the guests were concerned. Nathan had already treated a few patients within the first day of their scheduled arrival; a sickly little kid had had an asthma attack, a few that had been bitten by the more "beastly" guests, and an older gentleman that wasn't used to such travel and crowdedness.
He was still trying to get used to dealing with non-human guests, especially the ones that could somehow talk. He'd been tempted to tell Q that he was a doctor, not a vet, but years of working for Rotti Largo had taught him not to speak or complain much unless spoken to, and that a distant relationship with your boss was best.
So, if he couldn't handle the stress, and he couldn't bring it up to his boss, what was the best option to deal with his troubles? Alcohol, quite simply. Nathan was not normally a drinker; he found that drinking normally caused more problems than it solved. But here lately, he seemed to be enjoying more than the occasional glass of wine. It eased his headache, at least for awhile, and helped him escape his thoughts, which caused more headache than all the stress of the day combined.
After ordering another glass at the bar of the lounge, Nathan sat back restlessly at a bar stool, glancing around for signs of something that would distract him. He didn't really have friends here, not that he'd had any before he came either. He was more than used to being lonely, of course...but maybe tonight, just maybe, the wine would relax him enough to the point where he'd have a semi-normal conversation, despite his own wishes against such a fate. Maybe.

Well, he may not be a part of fate but he was defiantly someone to talk to. He strolled into the bar and sat down right beside Nathan and rubbed his face. Tiredness covering his normally soft but cunning features. Clearing his throat a little he ordered a glass of wine. He normally would go for something much stronger but didn't have the luxury of doing so today because of the guests. Sighing he immediately picked up the glass as it was delivered to him with the bitter wine in it and took a sip of it. He grimaced for a moment because he forgot how bitter this particular wine tasted shaking his head slightly he placed the wine down. He sighed roughly a frowned in disapproving manner.
After a moment he finally shifted his gaze to Nathan and couldn't help but smirk a bit. Seeing the quiet doctor always made him get his characteristic smirk going, mainly because of the fact the doc reminded him of someone he knew. He didn't look directly at Nathan but still he let out a small chuckle of acknowledgement of his presence. "You in here too? I didn't know the stress of the first day got to you too Nathan." He said looking directly at him now.
Normally he would be in his real form around the staff but now that the guests were around he didn't exactly feel safe doing so for...reasons. So he stuck with being in his human form though he fully disapproved of it. He gave a yawn and blinked in a surprised manner. "Hm, excuse me for that. Seems I'm still very exhausted." He stated.

Nathan glanced at the other employee, saying nothing at first. He didn't normally talk to Fellow(or Joseph now, he supposed), or anyone for that matter, but the anthro-fox creature was especially strange to him. It wasn't that he disliked him...he simply didn't trust him. Anyone that could change themselves from one form to another were a bit sketchy, to say the least.
And how did he know this? Simply put, because he could do the same thing himself, but with her personalities rather than his looks. The personality changes between "normal" Nathan and the Repo Man were being more frequent as of late...and with less control on Nathan's part. The Jekyll and Hyde Effect, as he'd dubbed it, was becoming a little unnerving. He was worried that he might permanently switch over to his other half...which would definitely end badly for him and everyone involved.
Almost in response to his fears, Nathan cleared his throat, reluctantly responding to the other's remark. Best to keep himself involved in conversation, lest he fall victim to his own mind...or "minds." "A...a little," he replied, his tone still distant, a bit uninterested. "I'm not normally stressed over work...perhaps it's a lack of stress that's getting to me," he said offhandedly, only half paying attention to whatever he was saying, and perhaps revealing a little more about his own thoughts than he'd intended.

Joseph gave a soft smile a little, it was slightly amusing to him the way he reacted to him. He was quite the timid little man even if he was 40 maybe older. Looking back at his wine he listened as Nathan spoke in a low tone, he let out a soft sigh when he was finished. "Easy Nathan, your among a friend no need to be so timid." He said offhandedly also as if he said it without even considering what it meant. He picked up his glass a wine and took another swig of the bitter liquid before setting it down again.
He gave a shook of his head and huffed. "I hate being stuck in this form but alas, I have no choice don't want to scare the guests after all right?" He said absent-mindly towards Nathan. He was pretty sure Nathan didn't trust him one once but he could at least try to get him to trust him just a little bit. I mean it wouldn't hurt to have an actual friend among the crowd right? Even if it was a person who tried to avoid the crowds all together.
"Eh, oh well." He shook his head once more before giving a roll of his shoulders. "Any plans for today?" He questioned looking over to him again.

Nathan frowned a little at being considered "timid," but said nothing. This friendly sort of bantering was unfamiliar to Nathan, as well as pleasant conversation. His previous career had been far less personal. It mainly came down to "kill this guy" and the occasional "hope your sickly daughter whom you keep locked in her room all the time is doing well" when it was closer to the holidays. Most other times little was said between Nathan and his employers, unless Amber Sweet or Pavi Largo happened to be hitting on him, or Luigi was attempting to one-up him on the murderous scale.
But Joseph seemed to actually be interested in speaking with him, not just spewing out the forced formalities you owed your fellow employees. And, strangely enough, Nathan was beginning to find himself willing to engage in conversation, no matter how pointless it may be.
Personally, he preferred Joseph's human form to his actual form, simply because his actual form was too strange looking for Nathan's tastes. But this would be rude to say, so Nathan only offered a sympathetic nod in reply. "Plans? No...I figured after a drink I'd head back to my room and read," he shrugged, taking another drink from his glass. Giving a dry smirk, he added, "Dull sounding, isn't it? But I suppose I'm a rather dull person, then. How about you?"

Joseph gave a grin slightly. "Not at all. I enjoy a bit of reading myself. Of course, not as much as my old friend Takanami but still. I like to read occasionally." He said with a light chuckle. "And me? Well I have no clue I'll probably be trying to sleep or work on helping guests and stuff like that. Make sure stuff doesn't get destroyed like usual. So, yeah I don't have much planned, now what I have to do is quite dull." He grinned a bit and gave a little laugh. "Eh, anyway. We can go do something if you'd like-" He paused for a quick moment. "But only if you feel comfortable doing something with me." He added quickly.
Honestly he was trying his best to just be friendly with Nathan. Now, Fellow wasn't exactly one for false friendships at all. He always made real friendships and that's what made his old job so difficult even though he didn't have to do his old job anymore.

Nathan allowed himself a small chuckle, almost playfully rolling his eyes at the other. He might not have liked the idea of spending much time with other people, but the fact that this other man was practically stepping on tiptoe as far as his own comfort was concerned was a little amusing. He really was having trouble getting used to a job where people actually cared about your well-being.
"I think I can handle that much," he replied back, a little surprised at himself for going so far as to agree. Perhaps it was just for the sake of "manning up" and appearing less timid to the other, or maybe he really was so bored that he was in the mood for companionship. Regardless of reason, he supposed that it would really be such a big risk to agree to spend the evening with the other.
"Alright. Did you have anything in mind?"

Well believe it or not with all his 'charm' Joseph did not expect Mr.Nathan to agree what so ever. However he did hold back the surprised look that would appear on his face normally. He gave a small grin again. However, he needed to think quickly on what to do. He gave a sudden shrug of his shoulders. "Well, how about we go on a walk? I know it isn't much but there's always something interesting going on outside." He suggested taking a big swig of his wine and making a weird face again at the taste before setting the empty glass down. "Bleh, I'll never get over that weird taste." He mumbled mainly to himself.
Honestly, he had no clue as to why he even liked wine just a tad. He also had no clue as to why he was trying to get Nathan out of his 'shell', as one would call it. It must of been the fact that for some reason Nathan was interesting because it seemed he was the 'secretive' type.

"That sounds like a fine idea," Nathan replied, standing to his feet before he could change his mind. He'd allow himself to have a "good time" for once with someone. Just this once. Just to prove to himself that he could, despite his inexperience with such. Besides, staying here and drinking more than he should was no doubt a worse idea than going for a walk with a fellow employee.
Perhaps what he needed was more companionship. Exposure to other "normal" people...well, as normal as he could find in a place like the Hotel Cavalier. It seemed that nearly everyone had just a strange and secretive a past as he himself had.
"Let's go then, shall we?" He asked, forcing a small, uncertain smile as an attempt to be friendly, gesturing towards the door.

Another small smirk seemed to cross his features for a brief moment. "We shall." He murmured to himself mainly and lead the way towards the door. Honestly he didn't mind getting out of the hotel for a while it would probably set his mind at ease as well as let him have a good time, not only that but get to know a bit more about Nathan. Joseph defiantly wouldn't mind getting to know more about this mysterious fellow after all.
"So to the city perhaps or the forest?" He questioned looking at Nathan waiting for a reply of some sort.

"The forest," Nathan said, almost too quickly. He'd always hated the city; busy, bustling and far too crowded with people he wanted nothing to do with. And in such a place, one was viewed in this exact way by everyone else, until you faded into the background, and simply part of the scenery.
And besides, he'd always preferred the solitude of the forest. Nathan had always imagined that once they'd retired, Marni and he would seclude to a nice little cottage somewhere far away from Sanitarium Island, surrounded by nothing but forest and trees. Shaking the thought from his mind, pushing open the door and taking a few steps out.
"...or would you prefer the city?" He questioned, realizing he must seem rude making the decision himself.

Fellow Insanity wasn't the least bit surprised when Nathan said the forest in fact he found a little pleasure when he responded with the words. Honestly he wouldn't mind a walk in the woods, after all the woods here made him feel at home back at HIS home not only that maybe he could find some new interesting things. He gave a small devilish smirk and lowered his eye lids a little to give him a slight cocky look or sly look. "No the forest is fine I wouldn't mind walking around there for a bit. Besides forest is nice and peaceful." He stated calmly.
He opened the door with his hand and gestured towards it. "You first." He said in a polite manner. As far as he was concerned this was going to be an interesting day and it would defiantly be better than most were going to be from now on.
