(OOC: Woo! First thread! Remember to keep it slow, people. It's an introductory thread. c: By the way, the guests are entering through the courtyard, so we’re starting out there)
Cracking his knuckles as he always did when he passed through the extensive hallways of the hotel, the gypsy pushed the polished wooden doors outwards, bringing in bright light from the sun. It shone straight into the reception room, where their current receptionist was sitting, chewing absentmindedly on a pen cap while reviewing a few last minute things.
A bellman stood outside in the courtyard, finishing up his last cigarette, before brushing off his red coat, and making himself look presentable to the oncoming group. Soon enough, a few others joined the lone bellman, knowing that the amount of luggage brought would be much too much for one man. Back inside, the head chef was preparing a complimentary meal in the dining hall for the new guests…today’s special was Alaskan salmon, with a brandishing of mango salsa. The drink to go along with it was pink champagne on ice.
Clopin himself strode outside, making sure that preparations were in order. The letters had indeed been received and accepted; he could see quite a number of guests making their way towards the hotel. The sign that hung over the door read “GRAND OPENING! WELCOME ONE AND ALL!” Content with that for now, the gypsy turned on his heel, heading straight back for his part-time job at the hotel: being a masseuse. There was absolutely no doubt that one of the new guests would love that, no?
Meanwhile, in the staff room, Q sat, hunched over a few papers scattered across his desk. While he didn’t care so much about what happened to mortals and the supernatural, he cared about this hotel’s reputation. The “MISSING” signs that lay across the desk weren’t helping at all. All he could do was keep the guests distracted enough to not notice the strange and unusual.
With that, the god strode out, not even giving the papers a second glance.
We are programmed to receive…

"So, this is where the humans live when they're not trespassing in my jungle." The tiger cub's yellow eyes scanned the courtyard he was approaching, darting about warily. Shere Khan had never met a human up close and personal, so despite any assertions he would give to the contrary, he really was nervous about this. Humans and their man-things didn't mix with animals, a fact that he well knew; but he had known just as well that he couldn't let Louie get away with his taunts of cowardice even because of that. It was no wonder, however, that the young feline was on edge.
Khan's future-hunter's eye traced the open space, picking out each of the figures placed around the courtyard. Woe betide the bellman and the others if they made any sudden moves that could be mistaken for threatening - even for a cub, Khan's claws were sharp as always, and he had little doubt that they'd rend human flesh easily enough if need be; he certainly didn't buy Bagheera's talk about their man-gadjets making them invincible.
Still, despite his confidence in his ability to inflict harm if need be, this was all new territory - metaphorically and literally - for the orange-striped cub, and as he stepped into the courtyard proper, his wary gaze never left the group of humans. For all Louie's talk, this was already further than any of those whimps back at the cubhouse would have dared to go, and Khan felt a spark of pride at that thought. "Yeah, I can do this. Just a couple of days, then no-one will be able to call me a coward." White-furred paws padded on the paved ground, carrying the tiger further into the courtyard, where he stopped a safe distance from the humans.

Blue Star hesitated at the sight of all the people milling about. Staff mostly, and a tiger cub. That surprised the woman, was this place was suppose to be a hotel or some sort of under the radar circus? The assassin shook her head and made her way over silently. Her hands itching in their want to grab a weapon and protect herself.
She needed to calm down. What good would happen if she didn't just relax? That's why she came here, she needed this. To forget her past, to look to the present. She didn't trust these people or that cub. There was something off about this entire place. The detective in her wanted to figure it out, but at the same time she didn't want to know.
Adjusting her knapsack on her shoulder she made her way into the courtyard. Close enough to the staff, but far enough to still be able to bolt if she needed too. She rubbed at her temples, "Calm down. It isn't going to help you to worry about it." She sighed as her boots crunched the gravel underfoot. There was no turning back now.

First day of the grand opening of the Hotel Cavalier. First day to impress all the guests, and the first day to put his gentlemanly charm on high. Excited human was defiantly excited though it was not very present at all on his smooth but define human features. With a roll of his shoulders he exited the office with Q and followed after however, he paused momentarily seeing Clopin out of the corner of his eye. He smirked slightly and gave a wave. "Morning Mr.Trouillefou." He said in a calm mid-level voice. His speech as gentlemanly and polite as always. He ran his fingers through his hair making sure it stayed out of his way when he went to greet the guests.
A sudden wave of calmness went over him as he spoke. Putting him back into his normal neutral state, and he couldn't be more thankful for that. He needed to stay calm and focused. He then proceeded forth after giving Clopin a few moments of acknowledgement. Walking down the grand halls of the hotel he stood in the lobby looking around at it. It was defiantly grand and all...but he couldn't help but wander what the guests would think.

Rainbow Dash landed atop a nearby cloud, eyes gazing over the courtyard. She had to make sure she was in the right place after all. All she had with her right now was her saddle bag and that was it, after all, she didn't exactly pack a lot, if hardly anything at all. But as the pegasus watched on, her eyes took note of at least three other guests arriving as well.
Though she didn't even seem to know what the ones that walked on two legs were, but for now, she had to shrug it off, after all, she had a free stay at a hotel, and she was surely going to take said deal up as she jumped off the cloud, wings extending which allowed for her to fly towards the ground.
The pegasus landed and again, took a quick look around before speaking up herself "So....which room am I staying in?" she had to ask, seeming to already acting justy a tad impatient on the whole ordeal "Name's Rainbow Dash, the youngest, and fastest flyer to win the Fastest Flying Competition back in Cloudsdale"

"Sorry! Sorry! So sorry!"
Several staff members gave a routine sigh as Grell breezed past, pushing a cart of china and cutlery across the grassy courtyard, "accidentally" running into a few of them. Yes, sorry your lazy rump happened to be in my way, he added to himself, resisting the urge to roll his eyes as he hurried through the courtyard. Outwardly he looked sheepish and apologetic, but inwardly, he wasn't too concerned with who or what he happened to run over. If they were too stupid to watch where they were going, then how was he to blame?
Besides, it was their fault anyway for forcing him into this ridiculous character role in the first place. If he'd had his way, he'd be sporting a pair of red pumps and something a little more flattering than this mousy butler outfit, but no. The rest of the staff had nearly all agreed that it was best for him to remain in this attire...at least until the guests were settled in. For the good of keeping things "as non-chaotic as possible." Whatever. Their loss.
Grell was so busy grumbling over this in his mind that he didn't notice the animal standing in his path. Not that he would have slowed down in the first place. It would have broken character not to act clumsy. Crashing into a blue pony, Grell fell down, as did most of the dishes he was carrying. Not even looking up to see just who or what he'd bumped into, Grell began the usual pandering of apologies, hurrying to pick up broken pieces of glass from the ground.
"Oh, sorry! Forgive me! I-I should have been watching where I was..." Grell glanced up, reddening with false embarrassment. However, he was taken aback a little by what he saw. Was this...a horse? With wings?
"...going?"

"And here, I thought this place was a hotel, not a circus." In sipte of his nerves, Khan wasn't one for keeping his presence quiet, especially when he felt he had something worth saying. The young tiger padded towards the fallen man who was scrambling to pick up all the dishes he'd made a mess of. It would probably be bad manners to make an attempt to eat one's hosts, but the stripeless winged zebra that seemed to have been turned into the human's roadkill was another matter entirely.
"But it's nice to see that they provide refreshments out here," he added. The cub's claws shrug forth from his paws, as sinister a grin as he could manage stretching his young features. Crouching, the cub pounced, aiming to fasten his jaw around the downed pony's hind leg, failing to consider that his prey had a good chance of taking off before he could make the bite.

Rainbow Dash turned her head just in time for a cart to slam right into her, followed by a loud crashing sound. She just sat there for a few moments, head dazed before shaking it and in turn, hovering just a few feet off the ground "Hey! What's the big idea?" she asked Grell first, not realizing straight away that as soon as she had taken to hovering, that the young lion cub had pounced.
Her gazed shifted to him next, realizing what he had attempted to, and failed at doing as she just let off an annoyed groan. Her eyes just shifted between the two of them. She had only been there mere minutes and already, someone had crashed into her, while another just tried to eat her, and all the while....she just wanted to stay in her free hotel room.

Sophia trotted into the courtyard, before turning tail to face her brother and his “friend” as they came up the hill, with the assassin on Bob’s back. The filly couldn’t help but scowl a bit as she warily looked at Taylor, watching the girl’s every move, from the tapping of her foot in the air, to her playing absentmindedly with Bob’s mane.
As she waited for the two of them, she began to walk a little further into the courtyard, eyes scanning each and every human. She didn’t trust any of them, and she was ready to impale the first one who tried to get her horn. One could definitely say that Sophia was overprotective, but it was how she had been brought up. Lashing her tail impatiently, she passed by the rather clumsy butler and the blue pegasus, sensing nothing out of the ordinary there…except for the butler. His human appearance seemed a little…off. But the unicorn shook it off, before continuing on.
Q had already left Fellow Insanity’s side, much too worried about what he had seen to actually greet those he had invited. And Clopin was well off on his way to the spa, waving back to the fox. As Sophia watched this go on, she eventually strode straight into the lobby, and then into anthromorphic fox, backing up a little in embarrassment. “I really have to watch out for where I’m going! I am so sorry.” Sophia said, with a quick bow of her head. Raising it up again, she realized that whomever she had bumped into wasn’t human, but a fox. That fact alone seemed to calm her on-edge nerves a bit, as she gave him an awkward half-smile.
Meanwhile, Bob and Taylor followed Sophia, and stopped somewhere near the rest of the crowd. “I don’t know where Sophia went, y’all.” Bob said, his ears drooping a bit. “Aw, it’s fine, buddy. She’s been full of her attitude since we got here. We’ll find her eventually.” Taylor said, sliding down from the unicorn’s back. As she stretched her aching back and cramped legs, she looked around, trying to find “interesting” people. Spotting a small tiger cub and a woman with shocking blue hair, Taylor deemed that enough, and she went straight over to them, greeting the tiger cub first.
“You are just the most ADORABLE thing I have ever seen! What’s you name, little guy?” Taylor asked, scrunching her face up a little.
Bob decided to go his own way. Looking around, he couldn’t help but spot the rainbow-maned pegasus. Gayly trotting over to her and the butler with the broken dishes, Bob offered an awkward grin, looking from one character to the other. “Hay y’all!” he said, first towards Dash, and then towards Grell. Seeing that there was quite a lot of dishes to be picked up, the unicorn immediately levitated a majority of the broken china back onto the cart, before holding up a pink hoof. “No need to thank me, y’all. Just helpin’ out.” he said. Turning his head to Rainbow Dash, his grin grew a little wider as he spoke. “What’s y’all’s name?” Bob asked, tilting his head to the side a little.

Rainbow Dash again, just had to rub her head. It still hurt from being hit by the cart in general "Rainbow Dash" she groaned once again before turning to who was talking to her. A unicorn. Another unicorn. Well, at least she wasn't as alone around here as she had initially thought, after all, unicorns were something she was used to seeing all the time, considering the fact that two of her best friends were in fact unicorns.
She had to at least inspect him a bit closer, but still, she hadn't seen him around Ponyville before. Then again, Zecora never did live in Ponyville either and instead, lived in the Everfree Forest. Then there were those in Canterlot....and other places too.
Okay, so trying to figure it out probabally wasn't the best idea. Maybe asking him in general was better. But what to ask him "So, do you come from Ponyville too? Or maybe Canterlot? Or how about Manehatten?" she paused for just a moment "The....Everfree Forest?"

"Hey!" Shere Khan looked, quite frankly, rather pissed as his meal suddenly removed itself from reach of his jaws by shooting straight upwards and was now hovering just over his head, the draft from the pegasus' wings ruffling his fur as he glared after her. "You may have avoided becoming my lunch this time, but you're still prey," he threatened, watching the rainbow-maned creature. She wouldn't last an hour in the jungle - with hair like that, every predator in miles would be after her. He started to pad away, back to where he'd been standing before. "And since we'll be staying under the same roof for a while, you can bet I'll catch you sooner or later."
Turning away from the strange horse, Khan found himself almost face-to-face with a female human whose reaction was not at all what the tiger cub either expected or wanted, and for a moment, he was rendered speechless. 'Adorable'?! He shook his head sharply, making a sort of 'huh' sound, the tone of which clearly conveyed that he felt he was above such a word. "My name is Shere Khan. And if you're thinking about hugging me..." that was the way female minds worked, he thought; see something they would class as 'cute' and want to hug it. Well, not him, that was for sure. "...I wouldn't recomend it," he finished, giving a flex of his claws just enough to indicate that attempting the action would get painful for her without actually seeming like he was making a threat.

Blue Star watched everything unfold before her. Flexing her wrists and allowing the blades to slide in and out of their compartment. This was nerve wrecking, a pony getting attacked by a cub and it swearing on killing the thing. After the girl called it adorable she'd basically got all the information she wanted from that group. She laughed lightly and moved past it.
"Careful cat," she said as she breezed past it over to the red haired man that had fallen, "That kind of determination will be your down fall."
She stared down at Grell for a nano-second before holding her hand down to him, "Get up. Wouldn't want you to get fired."

Tall humanoid gave out a small ompf as the unicorn collided with him. Looking down just slight he looked at Sophia gentle smile appearing on his face, and as soon as that happened his charm level went from high to max. Clearing his throat a little he continued to smile innocently. "Quite alright ma'am." He stated before running his fingers through his soft hair and slicked it back. "Are you alright?" He questioned making sure she didn't get accidently hurt. "Don't want you to get hurt your first day at Hotel Cavalier. Also, is there anything I can get for you madam?"
Odd green-ish eyes waited patiently for an answer. Hell, smooth, sharp looking man probably would stand there all day if he had too. It was all about the guests and the workers even the vice-manager himself were there to please them.

Grell scarcely had time to react to the various people - and otherwise - now surrounding he and the pegasus. The talking tiger cub was odd enough, but the unicorn that came shortly afterwards was certainly something in its own right. Also, two women, one of which was preoccupied with the tiger cub, and the other attempting to help him up. He glanced towards the unicorn, who'd somehow managed to pick up every dish he'd dropped, and blinked in surprise, mumbling a meek thanks before turning back to the blue-haired woman. Some things were just too strange for words. It was enough to make even the most adept of actresses(which Grell clearly was) break character.
"How very kind of you, madam," Grell smiled sheepishly, taking her hand and pulling himself to his feet. She was quite lovely...in his normal form, he might have been jealous. But he had a front to keep up, and clasped his hands together thankfully. "Oh, yes...that would be most dreadful indeed. Thank you once again, ma'am. My career is hanging by a thread already, it is."
Dusting himself off distressfully, Grell acted as though he'd suddenly remembered his manners, and gave a small bow of his head. "Grell Sutcliff, at your service, Madam. I am one of the hotel butlers. How might I be of service to you?"

"I'm fine...really," Blue Star said shaking her head, "I was just wondering, what the heck is going on in this place. Is it a circus or something?"
She looked at Grell with a bit of an edge, there was something off about him. She just couldn't seem to place anything in this area. It was all so jumbled. Shaking her head and rubbed her temple.
"Actually," she said looking at the red haired butler, "Where do I check in?"
